WHAT IS PIMA COTTON?
Pima Cotton is a type of cotton that grows primarily in Peru. Due to the climate and soil conditions in the region, and the special harvesting techniques that keep the fibers intact, pima is considered the best in the world. It is often compared to Egyptian cotton, which was used in the past for the finest clothing and bedding. Now pima has received the same praise; its use has grown more popular in the 20th century and is seen in clothing, bedding, and towels.
It is 50% more durable compared to other types of cotton. No pesticides or synthetic fertilizers are used when harvested, making it hypoallergenic and pure, and soft to touch.
Many have tried to grow this type of cotton in other countries without success thus far. For now, the pima cotton used in our pima cotton baby clothes remains a Peruvian treasure.
FROM THE CREATORS OF BABY NOOMIE:
Hello! We’re Alissa, Andrea and Shirli, friends and founders of Baby Noomie.
It all started when we became mothers. Our babies were born, and so was an idea. An idea to create clothing we’d actually love to pamper our babies with: adorable onesies and footies made with the world’s softest cotton: Pima.
Coming from a Latin American background, we 3 moms always knew and loved the feel of Peru’s cotton, but we couldn’t believe how hard it was to find Pima baby clothes with cute and modern designs. That’s when we decided to create Noomie: A baby clothing and accesories line that appeals to modern moms who want the most comfortable yet stylish outfits for their babies.
